Let’s Move To: Austin, Texas

Man, it’s been awhile since we did one of these little posts. The last “Let’s Move” post was of an amazing Brooklyn brownstone – check it out here.

This little Austin cottage I spotted in an old Country Living last night got my juices going, so naturally I’ll share.

Long, brick-paved driveway? Check. Cozy and surrounded by trees that could only be in Austin.

Love that the owners weren’t afraid to paint their walls black. I hope to be chic enough to do this one day. The only tips I’m picking up so far are: texture on the walls to keep the black from going flat, light ceiling, and light flooring. Light furniture. It will work though.

A small but scrappy kitchen.

Note the teeny art hung in interesting places. See here was right!

I’m also really loving brightly colored window and door trim today. Much more interesting than white.

Doesn’t this make you want 1,200 square feet of Austin bliss? Plenty of room for shining your boots and consuming large amounts of guacamole.

Keep the conversation going on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest!

  1. Hi Amy. I’ve been reading your blog for quite awhile and love it. After your time in Madison (which I’ve heard is a really cool city), you should definitley move to Austin! I’m in Austin and we would love to have you set up shop here. You can go from one weather extreme to another. You know you want to! :)
